Perfectly said! Tom is a cornerstone of the Substack community and his Shieldbreaker Saga is top-notch. Smart and action-packed but without sacrificing the humanity of the characters. They're not perfect, they've got jokes, they have doubts, they've got heart. It's masterful storytelling!

It really is, now I'm sad I put off reading his work for so long because it was fantasy and I'm easily frightened, much like a very large raccoon.

I would make a terrifying raccoon... I'm 6'3"

Honestly, any raccoon over the standard 3 feet or so would be enough to send me screaming. Over six feet? I've already expired. 🪦

Good thing fantasy is my jam so I didn't need to imagine myself or anyone else as a large raccoon to enjoy Tom's work.

This is an incredible write-up of not only one of the best writers on this platform, but hands down one of the best PEOPLE. His prose is wonderful and his kindness protected a dying optimist in me.

This is fantastic. Everyone should be so lucky as to have a Tom Schecter in their corner. Seriously. Some people talk about community, he's out here juggling everything else and making it happen faster than most of us have time to flinch react.

Go buy his damn book.

Not commenting on his writing because my Reviewstack drops in about an hour and four minutes.

Also, basically he helped save my family's ass this winter and NO ONE asked him to do it, so I owe him like, 3 whole Wookiee life debts.

Tom's an A+ cat and one of the first people to welcome me into the LitStack space. Look forward to holding Shieldbreaker in my hands soon.
