Now that I’ve read it, I think it’s great. I like how the apocalyptic scenario is just a background for the character relationships. Inverting the protector and protected was brilliant. You have a sophisticated way of describing emotional relationships that’s sometimes a bit beyond me, but I got there in the end.
Looking forward to reading this. I bumped out of it originally when I got to “potassium pills.” I’d just been in the emergency room for a heart arrhythmia and my potassium was low. So I had to go look up potassium pills and never came back.
You have two typos, but this is without a doubt the best thing I’ve read today, and I’ve just begun reading Cormac McCarthy.
